Wanted to love, but prefer the prior cargo version

I really wanted to love these pants since I have several pairs of the prior cargo version. I'm 5'6", 116 lbs with a longer torso than legs, so I usually order the petite length. I ordered the 4P which comes with a 27.5" inseam. The length was fine, but the fit is a tad baggier than the prior version...

After having purchased the ankle pants in store for an upcoming trip, I decided to check online for more color options & discovered this wide leg version, which is my preference. The color is exactly the same as the ankle version I already had, but the fit is a bit more generous. I hadn't thought about the length, so was a bit surprised that these were much too long for me. At 5'5" this version is about 3 inches too long, but I didn't have time to take them to a seamstress to have them shortened before my departure, so I used hemming tape to shorten them myself. I would order another pair, but probably one size smaller & in time to get them shortened before my next trip. They machine washed well & I hung to dry, just fluffing up in the dryer on low heat for a few minutes. I'd love a straight leg version!
