I'm 5'9" 153 lbs and size medium fit perfect. I'm normally a medium in their leggings so the sizing for this short is no different. I love that the pockets accommodate my large iPhone 8+ so that I don't need to run with a running belt or armband. I recently wore these on a 4.5-mile run and had no ch...afing and no rolling up on the legs or rolling down on the waist. The shorts are so comfortable but they still keep you sucked in. As soon as my size comes back in-stock, I will be purchasing more! I also purchased the Ultimate Stash Pocket 7" short but it has much smaller pockets that don't fit my phone.

On the website these shorts are described as having a "high rise." But on the physical shorts, it's labeled as a "super high rise." Normally I love a high rise, but the rise here is so high about an inch is curling at my waist. For reference, I'm 5'4", leggy, and pear shaped.

I'm 5'9", 150 lbs and I ordered a small. I love the 7" length & I wanted to love the pink but they are see through. If you have any lumps or bumps they will be on full display. Size small fit me well in the waist and at leg openings. I have better luck with Old Navy bike shorts than I do with Athleta. At this price point, you should not be able to see through the shorts.

These shorts run SMALL. For reference I'm 5'5" and weigh 133 lbs. but could NOT fit into the Small at all. Ordered the Medium but very disappointed in the sizing. please, Athleta, do better to size for 'real' bodies. On a positive note, I do appreciate the side pockets. Also, wish the 9 inch were not always sold out.

First use was a 16 mile run and these did not disappoint! I love having the pockets to stash necessities for a long run. Before this I wore an 8" but the 7" was still long enough for me! Very comfortable and worth every penny.
