This is an incredibly versatile jacket. I am ambivalent about the fact that all athletic wear from seemingly every company IS made out of plastic, but I can't deny the benefits that this material offers. It can be dyed any color in the rainbow and beyond, and it does keep you warm once you start wor...king out. It keeps heat in, and can be designed to "breathe," to an extent. The fit is beautiful. I got the large for extra room to move - I do like a roomier fit - and to layer. Wore it with the momentum tee on a 40F bikeride and was plenty comfortable. Layered a rain jacket on top and couldn't have asked for more. It's not often that I forget that I'm wearing clothes, but Athleta has really dialed in the "feel" of their garments. This is 100% an activewear jacket. Standing around in the cold gets chilly and the pockets aren't insulated. You do have to keep moving in order for this item to work for you. The medium would have been even more flattering. I can tell that the intended fit really skims over your body, and the arms wouldn't have been as tight as I'd feared. I do think I'll buy another one in medium just to have that look. I got compliments literally out of the gate: I walked out my front door and my boyfriend loved it. Got the plum, which is just a stunning color, and the mixed media styling levels it up. From a tall woman, THANK YOU for the long arms!
I had much higher expectations of warmth for this jacket. It's THIN and just doesn't keep you that warm for super cold temperatures (think 30-40 degrees). I've got a ten year old Nike running jacket that runs circles around this one in terms of warmth. Very stylish. But more for looks than actual wa...rmth.

I wear this skiing over a base layer but under my parka shell. Love it. True to size for me.

#sweepstakes I have these jackets in multiple colors. Great over a baselayer and layer under a winter coat. Otherwise, 40-50 degree weather, I use as the outer layer for running. Normally an XS-S in Athleta. Wear Small in this for slimmer fit (not tight) and a Medium for a little extra room.

Would say this fits true to size. The sleeves are a bit long and are made of a more fragile material, that has the potential to snag.

This is a great coat for running! I've used it a few times now so I can provide a review. Some people think the sleeves are too long but its perfect to put over your hands on colder days. I wear gloves but the extra layer from the coat is perfect (and thumb holes are big enough thay it doesn't cut off) This coat has been great for running, breathable but insulating. I've tested it in -10C ottawa canada weather and with just one layer of sweat wicking top underneath, i was good. This is a great option if youre looking for something to keep you warm on colder runs and fits great! True to size and you can find it on great sales too

Fits beautifully. A great jacket for spring, fall or those cool summer nights. Of course black goes with everything and the style is versatile enough to wear with athletic clothes, denim or casual pants. I've been looking for something like this for a while- I am so happy to have found it!
