This is an incredibly versatile jacket. I am ambivalent about the fact that all athletic wear from seemingly every company IS made out of plastic, but I can't deny the benefits that this material offers. It can be dyed any color in the rainbow and beyond, and it does keep you warm once you start wor...king out. It keeps heat in, and can be designed to "breathe," to an extent. The fit is beautiful. I got the large for extra room to move - I do like a roomier fit - and to layer. Wore it with the momentum tee on a 40F bikeride and was plenty comfortable. Layered a rain jacket on top and couldn't have asked for more. It's not often that I forget that I'm wearing clothes, but Athleta has really dialed in the "feel" of their garments. This is 100% an activewear jacket. Standing around in the cold gets chilly and the pockets aren't insulated. You do have to keep moving in order for this item to work for you. The medium would have been even more flattering. I can tell that the intended fit really skims over your body, and the arms wouldn't have been as tight as I'd feared. I do think I'll buy another one in medium just to have that look. I got compliments literally out of the gate: I walked out my front door and my boyfriend loved it. Got the plum, which is just a stunning color, and the mixed media styling levels it up. From a tall woman, THANK YOU for the long arms!
I had much higher expectations of warmth for this jacket. It's THIN and just doesn't keep you that warm for super cold temperatures (think 30-40 degrees). I've got a ten year old Nike running jacket that runs circles around this one in terms of warmth. Very stylish. But more for looks than actual wa...rmth.

I love this jacket for the in-between time when it's too cold for a windbreaker but too warm for a parka. Very good looking and comfortable jacket. This is the second color I have purchased. I am 5'2, 115 lbs but found the medium more comfortable- especially if you need room for more than just a tank top underneath.

I am 5'2" and weigh 130lb. I have broader shoulders. When the Athleta description says fitted I tend to get large other wise I get a small which sounds crazy but that is how I their sizes fit me. The large allows me to wear the long sleeve momentum shirt underneath it with plenty of room. My office is always cold so this extra layer is super nice!

This is my second one. I had to buy another since I wear the first one for a lot of my winter runs. It's warm without being restrictive, and soft and stretchy where it needs to be. The zipper pockets and thumbholes are a plus. This jacket seems to run a little tight so I do size up 1 size from my usual to be sure I can fit a layer underneath comfortably.
