Wow, people weren't kidding when they said these ran small! I'm typically XS and I bought S and waist is so tight it's hard to pull on. Thankfully they fit so I can use since it was final sale. Can't say how much I dislike drawstring esp since these are so tight they'd never fall off so it's totally... useless. I guess the extra cargo pocket is nice—has a flap to help things stay in. Bought because of super low price but would never keep otherwise
This is my 3rd pair of cargo pants to order in a medium. The first ones were army green and fit perfectly - they stretched at the waist. I loved those so much I ordered the off white or bone color (not sure of the exact name). There was no stretch where the drawstring is on the bottom seam. My d...aughter ordered the exact same ones in a small and did not have this issue. I ordered these black ones and the same thing, no stretch. I literally had to tuck my skin in them to get them above my thighs and butt. I would honestly prefer to have no drawstring at all. I cut it out of my other two pairs. I don't want to order a large b/c I don't want them to be gappy in the legs, so I guess I'll just break the seam a little and hope the fabric doesn't separate. Question to Athleta: why do some pants in this style have stretch at the drawstring and some don't?

Like other reviewers say, the waist on this pant has less stretch than other Salutations, so I ordered a M tall rather than my usual S tall. The extra room in the legs isn't a big deal and the snug, high waistline is really comfortable when the sizing is right. Soft Salutation fabric, and great pockets and banded cuff.

I bought a small petite - my true size and couldn't get them past mid thigh. I do have more of a curvy shape, but the drawstring makes these very inflexible. Just looking at them out of the package - they looked too small compared to my other leggings. Overall the material does seem comfortable though.
