Velvet soft feel. These run a bit larger than I expected - cinching at the waist helps, but the legs are very loose (gonna need bike shorts undreneath).

Really loving these shorts. I have 2 pair in both dark & light colors & im not having any issues with water or food stains like so many complained about in the reviews? I've been skeptical at purchasing them because of all those complaints but glad I didn't listen. They are Very comfy & fit my skinny legs great (which is Not an easy task when it comes to shorts for me)! Love the curved hem! Wish Athleta would offer more shorts in the Bermuda lengths 6-8" inseams but with a skinnier leg style like the old Bettona & Metro styles. Which I'm still wearing years later & they still look like new:) #sweepstakes

Purchased for my grown daughter b/c I own 2 pair and almost all of the pant colors in Seasoft. LOVE the shorts even more than the pants! Shorts for lounging or even sleeping in. I do feel that I could have sized down from my usual S in pant size to an XS in the shorts--seem a little more roomy in hips. I'm 5'4", 125 lbs, carry muscle and carry weight in bum & thighs.
