Reference: 5'2", 148lbs., 36C, apple shape, longer torso, generally wear Petite M or 10Petite. Ordered this jacket in size Medium Petite and Small Regular because I really could not tell from other reviews how this boxy, oversized shirt jacket would fit someone of my height, shape and weight. Hope...fully, this will help others (see my size reference notes above). The Medium Petite fit well in terms of sleeve length, but the body of the jacket felt too "voluminous" to be flattering. The Small sleeve length was definitely too long, but I liked the fit of the body, while still boxy, it fit closer and less oversized/far more flattering on my shape. I am keeping the Small because I often roll up my sleeves on my jackets and long sleeve shirts anyway and the sleeves still look flattering because they are not oversized nor too tight to accomplish it. I'll be returning the petite Medium, as I do not intend to wear anything but a lightweight tee shirt (short or love sleeve) or a tank top and the oversized look so popular now is unflattering to someone of my age (62), shape and height. Overall, the fabric is soft, stretchy and has wonderful drape (doesn't cling or hug the body); I would consider it a lightweight ponte (it is more fluid/has more drape than a regular weight ponte, which can sometimes be kind of "stiff"). Construction is well done and I think it's a piece that will continue to wash and wear very well for years to come--a classic piece. It is comfortable, and the cropped length can be worn casually, with high waisted jeans or joggers and sneakers, or dressed up with high waisted pants and heels. I think the tortoise shell buttons lend themselves to that versatility, but this jacket would also be nice with matte black buttons for an even more elevated/chic aesthetic. I can highly recommend if you like the boxy look and are able to figure out which size is the most flattering for your body shape. Wish it came in even more colors, like a rich olive green.
