I should have read the reviews before ordering. It does run very large, which is confusing because I have other pieces from Athleta that are a Small size, but I should have ordered an extra small, which I never would have expected to order from Ahtleta. It's a beautiful trench, I got the blue. I've ...tried it on layering it with sweaters but it's still too big. Maybe I'll gain some weight so I can wear it, HaHa!

As a long time athleta customer I'm truly shocked at how many misses this has. I'm 5"1 and was excited to find a cute trench in petite. Sadly the proportions are terrible. The sleeves are still to long with no way to adjust, very wide cuffs. The material honestly feels terrible and so wrinkly. The i...nternal pull helps shape some but it's double breasted without a tie so you either have to fully button or float in the breeze (not helpful in rain in a parachute). And the length is just unflattering on someone short. Even on sale it's a hard pass. Luckily the return seems easy

Like other commenters I definitely suggest you size down - I am normally a L and the M is still oversized on me. I was hoping for something a little more structured, but the oversized/shapeless look still works for this piece and the blue color is lovely. However, I would caution that this is NOT a raincoat by any means - the fabric is thin and not waterproof, and when I have worn it in the rain my clothes underneath are immediately damp.

I was looking for a light trench that would work basically year round. I live in the southern part of the US. This is perfect. It feels great and is exactly what I was looking for. The waist that cinches - or not - is perfect. This coat will work with layers or alone. The material is interesting as it shows a pattern when it gets wet. I would highly recommend.
