Latest pair not as soft and stretchy as previous pairs

My granddaughter loved the XS chitchat shorts she received in June 2023. The S pair I ordered in August are noticeably less stretchy. These were a perfect fit for my 8.5 year old girl who is long legged has a skinny waist. Shorts are hard to find that fit well and these were perfect! She's using them for volleyball.
