I totally overlooked that Athleta offers two short socks - no show (the only socks I want) and these ankle ones. I accidentally bought a 3 pack of these. Put one on at 5am not noticing then changed out of pants that day and was so confused why they were so high. Great socks! My favorite, but wanted... to hopefully prevent someone from doing what I did 🙃
I ordered these recently in size M/L per Athleta recommendation b/c my shoe size is in the 7-8 range. Once received, I tried one of the pairs on and they were too big/long - not just slightly but way off. The toe part is too roomy, seeming kind of misshapen as well. I had been excited to order these... b/c I had tried a pair of Athleta's crew socks in M/L earlier on and they fit perfectly and I love the way they feel. These high performance ankle socks would have been bunched up and moved around in a shoe. They in the process of return. In a subsequent order I purchased the everyday ankle socks in M/L and they are perfect - feel great. Thus, it seem as issue with the performance ankle socks - I was not willing the S/M version b/c that is a quality/consistency/trust issue w/ sizing. I seem to recall seeing at least one other review with a similar issue with these particular socks.

Love the material of these socks! They have a great cushioned heel. They do fit a little on the larger side. I am usually a 9/10 shoe size and find these to be just slightly big. They are breathable and great quality

They changed the socks! These were my favourite socks - expensive but great! There was a sale so I ordered them again, they're still the same price, but it turns out the socks are not the same. I'm guessing Athleta found a way to make them cheaper, but opted to not reduce the price (big surprise! She says sarcastically),which means a bigger profit for them but inferior socks for us! Bottom line - they are over-priced! They do not have the same compression, they are an inferior quality. Athleta is cheating their customers, I will not purchase the socks gain.
