This bag is great for travel AND every day. It's got a lot of space, but structured enough that my laptop won't slide around to the bottom and lay flat. The little hidden pocket on the side is great for things like my metro card and wallet. For day use, I carry: laptop, wallet, notebook, book, bag... of random crap, shopping bag, water bottle, phone, keys, headphones, pair of shorts (for the gym), and if I'm motivated, it'll fit my chalk bag and climbing shoes. For travel (4 day trip to Chicago), I can pack: a Patagonia packing cube, a light sweater, and everything in the list above sans the shorts, chalk bag, and climbing shoes. Highly recommend this bag, especially if you live in a walking city and schlep stuff around all day but don't want to wear a backpack.
I don't understand the high rating. Like the other one-star review said, there is a lot of promises this does not deliver. The strap is not adjustable - I don't understand why that is repeatedly emphasized, not online in the online description but also on the tag on the bag! I regret cutting that of...f, not sure if they'll accept the return. Strange size: I guess it would be cute if you were a petite teenager. The fabric is such that it slides off the shoulder, but the strap length is kind of short and strange. It hits me at a weird spot, regardless of whether it's on my shoulder or across my body.

Perfect travel bag. The shoulder strap has the right amount of padding to provide comfort while traveling/walking with a full bag (water bottle, wallet, phone, extra clothes) for several hours. The three pockets are perfectly placed.
