You do have to size down. Normally, I would get a large in a jacket, but I got a small in this and could've even gotten an XS. This jacket is butter soft and warm and so freaking cute. It's got cute details and I just love it so much. I bought my 18-year-old child one as well. One reviewer said the... fabric is loud, but I don't agree with that. It is nylon so it's gonna have a certain amount of sound, but nothing like my parachute pants where you could hear me coming a mile away. I originally ordered the black and the brown color. I was disappointed in the brown because it's very dull looking and the black just looked so much better.. I'm 5'7", 155 pounds. My chest is approximately 42–44 inches (my hips are the same). Laid flat the small size is 25" from pit to pit and from shoulder to hem is 26". If companies would provide actual garment measurements, I'm sure a lot of returns could be avoided..
I have broad shoulders, so I tend to get a large in jackets. When I trying this on, it looks huge and more oversized than what is flattering; however, I felt like if I had gotten a medium the arms would've been too short. I feel like I needed a casual jacket for rainy days (I have a trench coat but ...it's an expensive designer look and fit) and for the price, this should work.

I have lived in this jacket since I recieved it a few weeks ago. while we have cold winters, I have not tested the water proof side but a great light oversized jacket for over sweatshirts and sweaters for winter layers!

This is a great change of weather jacket. Those chilly maybe damp days; it is oversized but that's okay

Love this fun jacket! I ordered a Tall/Small because I wanted the jacket to be a little longer on me, but I didn't want it to be too voluminous. It fits great! I'm 5'7" and 140 lb with an athletic build. The jacket keeps me nice and toasty with a few layers underneath.

The jacket is oversized and I love that it has a lot of room. Great for layering in SoCal weather and during travels. Ordered the eclipse and just loving it. My daughter had a huge smile on her face when she tried it on so I bought another one in black. Got both in Petite Small but for a tighter look, I recommend sizing down. I only wish is that it comes in more colors.

This jacket is super-cute and I love that it's water resident. I ordered it in eclipse color and it's so pretty. I did size down based on other reviews and it fits well

this is a nice lightweight jacket, perfect for casual everyday where. i'm planning on wearing for my daily walks. i love that it has a hood for those windier days. it's super soft and comfortable. I'm typically a Large but sized down to a M and it fits well. however if you want a more oversized look, I would order your typical size.
