I'm glad I read the reviews on this before I bought it. If you want an oversized jacket then get you're normal size. I wanted a more fitted (but not tight) size down at least 2 sizes. I am an true size medium/8/29. I will usually buy large in jackets and sweaters and things that I don't want to be too tight. I was super nervous to get an XS but it fits perfectly! Love the material and weight as well.

It's like Athleta read my mind with my wish list of coat options and made this coat based on that. I love it. I am picky when it comes to the length of my clothes and fit and I'm constantly between sizes often going too big because I would rather have things be oversized than too small, well, also disliking when things are too oversized. I sized down this time & ordered a small. I'm between 5'7" and 5'8" with an athletic build and this coat is literally perfect. I can wear it with just a long sleeved t-shirt underneath or a sweatshirt and it would fit perfect either way. It's like the pants from Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants but in coat form for my body. I was skeptical based on other reviews and because it was final sale but I'm so glad I made the purchase! While it might not be a great winter coat, spring you and fall you will thank you for ordering it, especially while it's on sale!

Bought in the Navy color, absolutely adorable. I took the advice from other reviews and sized down - I'm 5'6", about 140 lbs and I normally wear mediums. Got the small and it's great. I did also order the Tall size, because I hate sleeves that are too short. That combo worked!

I love this jacket, the weight is perfect for fall spring, my only complaint is a little oversized. I wear a small in all other athleta products, but I probably should have gone down a size.

This jacket is adorable. Based on another review, I went down 1-2 sizes & it's perfect. I'm 5'5" 145 lbs, athletic build with broad shoulders. I typically wear a 6-8 in coats/jackets. I took a gamble on a final sale item & won! Ordered the XS & it was PERFECT. Still roomie, like the model in the photo. Sleeve length is perfect. I honestly don't think I would have been happy had I ordered the S. I feel like it would have enveloped me.

Purchased as a gift. Tried it on and it was comfortable. Runs large. Seemed like a good weight for colder days during winter in the south. Not a winter coat. Warmer than a sweatshirt.

You do have to size down. Normally, I would get a large in a jacket, but I got a small in this and could've even gotten an XS. This jacket is butter soft and warm and so freaking cute. It's got cute details and I just love it so much. I bought my 18-year-old child one as well. One reviewer said the fabric is loud, but I don't agree with that. It is nylon so it's gonna have a certain amount of sound, but nothing like my parachute pants where you could hear me coming a mile away. I originally ordered the black and the brown color. I was disappointed in the brown because it's very dull looking and the black just looked so much better.. I'm 5'7", 155 pounds. My chest is approximately 42–44 inches (my hips are the same). Laid flat the small size is 25" from pit to pit and from shoulder to hem is 26". If companies would provide actual garment measurements, I'm sure a lot of returns could be avoided..
