I do love Athleta bras but wish there was more consistency in the sizing. I have purchased a couple different styles, when I can get them on sale, as I simply cannot afford to pay full price for any of their products. Typically, the quality is good but I have found that some of the fabrics pill up... or don't hold up well through washing & normal wear (even those I air dry). It seems to be hit or miss, as is the sizing. I am 5'1", 135 pounds, 34 C, & muscular. I usually purchase A-C large but this one runs big. It turns out a medium would have been the correct size, but I went with large as that's what has worked in another style that I like. Unfortunately, this was a final sale, which I didn't realize at the time of purchase. I definitely will be more cognizant of final sale items & not be purchasing due to inconsistent sizing. Even on sale, it's too pricey to take a chance. I do use this for sleeping/lounging as it's ok for that but too big for any workouts.
36G here. I got a L in the DD+. No complaints size-wise - great fit, no spillage. What I have an issue with is how stretchy the straps are. It's like people with small boobs (or men) got together and were like okay what do people with bigger boobs need - bigger cups, problem solved! BUT they didn...'t modify the straps at all, so this is a return for me. This, and apparently all of their DD+ sports bras, need a limited-stretch strap material. This one was actually better than another style I tried - Transcend Strappy DD. It doesn't help that I'm 5'3 (which is the average height of an American woman, Athleta!). If they changed the material of the straps and/or made them adjustable, this would be a win. If you're tall, or your boobs are significantly farther from your shoulders than mine (which at a G cup is saying a lot) then this might work for you. If not, join me in continuing the everlasting search for a comfortable, moderately supportive but not hideous sports bra that accommodates large cup sizes.

I'm 38D, normally I get the LG D in other styles of Athleta. But I've been getting XL C in this style & love the fit! Great shape under tee shirts & perfect hold for the gym. The lower "V" straps in the back don't strain my neck with all day wear like the classic racerback styles do. I've purchased 6 of this style for myself & 2 more to give as gifts. The Vital bra pairs nicely under the boat neck perfect rib tee & is the perfect pop of color under the transcend open back crop. I love that there's less coverage in the back on the Vital bra, so more heat can escape while working out. These wash really well & hold shape as well as don't fade in color. I get a full range of motion while doing upper body lifting & the cut in the back goes under shoulder blades. No constant readjusting. If I could buy you one I would!

I have an odd size for bras and Athleta does a 'good' (not great) job with their D/DD line. I am 30G, and get XS in D/DD line. Mostly use for yoga. 100% would not suggest to use for high impact unless you are A-cup and 25yo. In yoga/pilates, it stays pretty well in place and I never feel like I have to 'retuck' myself back in (ifykyk). Though I would say its 33% cleavage

Great for weight lifting! I'm between sizes so this worked best for me. I typically am 38D so that puts me in the LG-D in Athleta... but I find the band to be too tight. I decided to go with XL-C & it actually gives the ta-tas the compression I want plus my band is more comfortable. I haven't had any trouble "spilling out" while doing bentover rows etc. Loved so much I bought 2 more! The cut in the front (through shirts) accentuates my curves. So if you're looking to minimize, not the bra to do that. I don't have any issues with the lower racer back pulling on my neck or shoulders either. Very comfy! I bought these colors: Siren, Jungle, the tan one. These are so cute under the open back tops!
