Perfect mid weight waterproof and warm pant

These are so stylish I love them. If your looking for heavy snow pants these are not it. They are water resistant outside and heavier/warm inside. Like a super light all weather pant. Have more weight and thickness than a simple lined pant but not thick and bulky like a true snow pant. The leg ...

These pants look great BUT...

These Athleta pants have a lot of thoughtful design features. The built-in elasticized gaiter made from a shiny, water-resistant synthetic is excellent — it seals around winter boots and keeps snow and moisture out. Here in Colorado, I wear these pants for mountain hikes, snowy city weather, cold days, and they are always comfortable. The lining is just the right weight and these pants don't wrinkle. The boot cut is slight and goes perfectly over Sorels or chunky shoes. I have 4 pairs.

I am usually a 0 Petite in Athleta pants, but these were really small, especially in the waist. A reminder that these have internal gaiters to protect ankles from snow, so they are true performance pants, not an around-town wear to work item, unless you are an outdoors guide. Overall well made, will reorder in a size 2.

Comments about Glacier High Rise Flare Pant

Perfect for wet days when you want to look good. These are not snow pants. Dont expect to hit the slopes they are not designed for that. They ARE heavier duty, waterproof and durable for city life, walking a dog or out and about in wet/or snowy weather. The best part is they are sleek with beautiful tailoring and elongating fit. If you want to withstand colder wet weather and look polished these are the pants. The opening at the leg is great for any boot and the fit is not sloppy. Worth the money and I love them.

Ordered online so was surprised. These seem warm and definitely would be waterproof. But the flare is huge and seem more appropriate for use over ski boots. It also runs small.

These are so stylish I love them. If your looking for heavy snow pants these are not it. They are water resistant outside and heavier/warm inside. Like a super light all weather pant. Have more weight and thickness than a simple lined pant but not thick and bulky like a true snow pant. The leg shape elongates too which is nice for a short girl. If your looking for a pant to wear out and about in the snow that will keep you dry and warm and look nice these are it.

These Athleta pants have a lot of thoughtful design features. The built-in elasticized gaiter made from a shiny, water-resistant synthetic is excellent — it seals around winter boots and keeps snow and moisture out. The wide, ribbed waistband is secure and comfortable at first, and I appreciate that it has no buttons or zippers. The overall look is great: a full-length pant with a slightly flared leg and a tailored front seam that makes them look polished. I wore them with hiking boots, city winter boots, and heavy snow boots, and they looked stylish with all of them. However, for me the waistband ended up feeling too heavy and too thick. By the end of the day, it put enough pressure on my stomach that I couldn't wait to take them off. In terms of warmth, they are water-resistant but not as insulating as I expected. I tried them in Virginia on a windy, cold night and didn't feel much warmth. In Vermont, on a sunny 3-degree day, the fabric itself felt cold and not very breathable. During a snowshoe outing, I actually got cold because the material seemed to hold that cold feeling. I really admire the concept — a winter pant that looks good and has technical details — but I hope Athleta continues refining this idea. A version that's truly cozy, more breathable, and more comfortable at the waist would make this an exceptional cold-weather pant.
