I do love Athleta bras but wish there was more consistency in the sizing. I have purchased a couple different styles, when I can get them on sale, as I simply cannot afford to pay full price for any of their products. Typically, the quality is good but I have found that some of the fabrics pill up... or don't hold up well through washing & normal wear (even those I air dry). It seems to be hit or miss, as is the sizing. I am 5'1", 135 pounds, 34 C, & muscular. I usually purchase A-C large but this one runs big. It turns out a medium would have been the correct size, but I went with large as that's what has worked in another style that I like. Unfortunately, this was a final sale, which I didn't realize at the time of purchase. I definitely will be more cognizant of final sale items & not be purchasing due to inconsistent sizing. Even on sale, it's too pricey to take a chance. I do use this for sleeping/lounging as it's ok for that but too big for any workouts.
36G here. I got a L in the DD+. No complaints size-wise - great fit, no spillage. What I have an issue with is how stretchy the straps are. It's like people with small boobs (or men) got together and were like okay what do people with bigger boobs need - bigger cups, problem solved! BUT they didn...'t modify the straps at all, so this is a return for me. This, and apparently all of their DD+ sports bras, need a limited-stretch strap material. This one was actually better than another style I tried - Transcend Strappy DD. It doesn't help that I'm 5'3 (which is the average height of an American woman, Athleta!). If they changed the material of the straps and/or made them adjustable, this would be a win. If you're tall, or your boobs are significantly farther from your shoulders than mine (which at a G cup is saying a lot) then this might work for you. If not, join me in continuing the everlasting search for a comfortable, moderately supportive but not hideous sports bra that accommodates large cup sizes.

I was really excited about this sports bra because I need strong coverage and support as a 32DD. When I first tried it on, I loved how it looked and how secure and supportive it felt. The fit through the band (I purchased a small) was great — the medium was too loose under the bust for me. Unfortunately, after wearing it several times for 1–3 hours, I started experiencing significant shoulder pain. The straps seem to put too much pressure on my shoulders over time, and it became uncomfortable enough that I can't continue wearing it. I'm especially disappointed because of the price point and because I purchased it in multiple colors. I really wanted this to work. If shoulder comfort is important to you, that's something to consider.

I'm a regular Athleta supporter and have worn their clothes for years. I recently did an overhaul and purchased some new bras. This Vital Bra is my new go-to for light days at the gym and active days around the house. I love the material and I love the way it fits and supports me. Plus it's cute enough for me to wear with shorts and sandals on a hot day. I loved it so much I bought a second bra in another color.

I'm always on the hunt for a minimal, but well fitting sports bra. This one fits the bill. Good coverage with nice straps that don't dig into my shoulders or back andedium.cpmpression for all day wear. Dahlia is a gorgeous color also.

I love this sports bra and own it in 3 colors. It's very comfortable and stylish. I like the cutout in the back. One downside is that the pads get out place with washing and it's a pain to readjust them. I'd love if Athleta made bras with sewn in pads.

I have two of these original bras and the straps come detached every single time I put it on - so annoying. So this is a great improvement. Supportive. I'm 32A and purchased my usual size small and it fits great.

I have purchased many sport bras through Athleta and this one quickly became a favourite the minute I tried it on in the change room. After one wear I broke out in hives everywhere the bra touched me. I thought it was a one off chance. I gave it two weeks for my hives to completely heal and tried the bra again. Same thing happened except worse. I am not sure if it is a different material than any of my other Athleta purchases but I have never experienced this before.
