I run 3-5 miles most days, so short distance but high frequency. My thighs aren't tiny so finding shorts that won't be gobbled while I run has been a life's mission recently. I have an older pair of athlete Run with it 4.5 inch shorts in a size too big that are one of the only shorts I've ever found...

Love the fit of the soft waistband. I am 5' 2" and 53 years old. The length is great for me. I walk 5-7 miles around the lake and these are the perfect shorts for workouts and hot days.
