I initially ordered a large because all my Athleta tops are that size (5'10" 185lbs for reference.) I may have already submitted a review but… I looked like how a kid would draw a shirt on stick people. I returned for a medium, and when that came today, I noticed right away the crew neck was cut and.../or hemmed improperly so it sits crooked on my shoulders. I shouldn't have to go through almost a month of returns for a simple crew neck tee. This entire "Essential" collection is a bit odd. Most of my tops are the "With Ease" cinch and twist tops and those feel like a true large. I would even re-re-order a small but I was worried the arm holes would feel too tight. The cut on the shoulder and torso is awkwardly broad… almost as if a man designed this for himself and just made the arm holes skinnier for a woman. I love supima cotton as it is more durable and less see-through than regular or even pima cotton. I wanted an alternative to all the poly blend workout clothes in my wardrobe. It's a great fabric but I think this whole line needs a little tweak on sizing and overall shape of the garments.

I'm a large in everything with Athleta... is what I thought (5'10" and 185 lbs, 42" bust.) I know these are more of a relaxed fit, but sizing down would have been the move. Love the high quality fabric and color, but I'm not as impressed with how unpredictable the sizing can be between medium and la...rge. This goes for tops and bottoms. I've had medium fit perfectly in-store, then online orders leaving me looking like the Michelin man. This was the opposite. All my clothes (that have actually fit) from Athleta are a large. I went straight-ticket large on this $200+ order and thought I was safe, but this supima "Essential" collection is shaping out to be frumpy and unflattering so far. Plenty of websites I've ordered sale items from allows returns for an in-store credit at least. Athleta not so much. Boo!! I like sale items so I know what I like before dropping $$$. Now I'm just bummed!

Love the essential tees because I am short waisted and the length is perfect.for me. It's a nice heavy quality. I have at least one in every color I like. I am SO SAD to hear that your are discontinuing the essential line.

I have two long sleeved essential T-shirts. They are fantastic. I am 5'4", 118 lbs and a small is perfect for me. I like the fact that the T-shirt doesn't hang way down it's a flattering cut. I wish they had these shirts in short sleeved in different colors. But I can't find any.

I'm wearing this top today for the first time since I bought it, and so far I like it. I sized up, and I am glad that I did. The top is bit short for my taste; had I not sized up, I would have been constantly tugging at it and pulling it down. It doesn't say it's a cropped shirt, but it sure feels like it. I also needed the added length from sizing up in the sleeve, so I'm glad I did. I normally wear a 2x and bought a 3x. It is not boxy or square; likely just fitted more than I prefer (hence sizing up). I gave 3 stars because I don't like cropped shirts. Just give me the whole shirt, please!
