I initially ordered a large because all my Athleta tops are that size (5'10" 185lbs for reference.) I may have already submitted a review but… I looked like how a kid would draw a shirt on stick people. I returned for a medium, and when that came today, I noticed right away the crew neck was cut and.../or hemmed improperly so it sits crooked on my shoulders. I shouldn't have to go through almost a month of returns for a simple crew neck tee. This entire "Essential" collection is a bit odd. Most of my tops are the "With Ease" cinch and twist tops and those feel like a true large. I would even re-re-order a small but I was worried the arm holes would feel too tight. The cut on the shoulder and torso is awkwardly broad… almost as if a man designed this for himself and just made the arm holes skinnier for a woman. I love supima cotton as it is more durable and less see-through than regular or even pima cotton. I wanted an alternative to all the poly blend workout clothes in my wardrobe. It's a great fabric but I think this whole line needs a little tweak on sizing and overall shape of the garments.
I'm a large in everything with Athleta... is what I thought (5'10" and 185 lbs, 42" bust.) I know these are more of a relaxed fit, but sizing down would have been the move. Love the high quality fabric and color, but I'm not as impressed with how unpredictable the sizing can be between medium and la...rge. This goes for tops and bottoms. I've had medium fit perfectly in-store, then online orders leaving me looking like the Michelin man. This was the opposite. All my clothes (that have actually fit) from Athleta are a large. I went straight-ticket large on this $200+ order and thought I was safe, but this supima "Essential" collection is shaping out to be frumpy and unflattering so far. Plenty of websites I've ordered sale items from allows returns for an in-store credit at least. Athleta not so much. Boo!! I like sale items so I know what I like before dropping $$$. Now I'm just bummed!

I ordered the Gray and White tees. Seems the Gray is a bit looser than the White, don't know why, but I like it. They are not a relaxed fit but not body-skimming either. In the move with ease tee I am a Medium - at it is loose. I can do a Large (loose) in the same style in long sleeve. I vary between Medium (mostly) and Large depending on the Athleta top. I got these in Large. My measurements align with those in the guide. Could not go smaller and a XL would be too big in shoulders and probably too boxy. I generally am not a crew neck gal but I like the length and can wear with a high waist pant or skirt. This hits nicely without being too long and requiring a front tuck for a better look (at least on me). I am debating if I might exchange the White for Black but I am keeping either way because I got on a good sale.

I love these tops and have a few of them. I prefer to wear natural fibres and this one is pima cotton … just lovely!
