I NEVER have luck with Athleta pants, but decided to give these a try based on people saying that the waistband was small. For reference I am A&F curve love or drawstring pants shaped gal. If you typically need to size your pants up to fit your hips and thighs, but can grab a fistful of extra fabric at your waist. I definitely recommend giving these a try. I got my true size 10 petite. The fabric doesn't wrinkle if you forget them in the dryer. The darts down the front and the back looks super professional. I do wish they had front pockets, but I can't even bother taking a star off for that because they fit so well.

Unlike some other reviews, I liked the fabric. However wide elastic waist was very tight with minimal stretch. I do agree with other comments about the hip area being a little larger than expected. That could be a plus though for some body types.

Petite sizes fit me best in the rise in Athleta but I must have proportionally longer legs because most pants these past few seasons are too short. These are not and work with a flat sneaker (though an extra half inch would have been even better). And finally, a bootcut shape has come back. I bought black and navy and duplicated both because they work for casual wear and travel. I am normally 4P but these fit better in 6P, even though there is a bit of excess fabric across the seat and at the sides of the hips.

very fitted and well made. tummy controlling, but the pants are a little snug in the crotch area. i am a size M and got a M. and while that's the correct fit, I wish there was even 1/2 an inch more room in the crotch. Sizing up wouldn't work because then they wouldn't be fitted through the leg and would be way too long.
