This barrel cut didn't make sense to me. I wear small in regular length and medium petite. I went with the petite, and the cut just seemed a little sloppy. These linen crop pant are perfect for my 5'1" frame. Very comfortable and classy looking. My only regret was I didn't buy all the colors. But in my defense, the description did not state inseam. Did purchase two, size petite small. Great design and fabric.

I used the size chart and selected a medium size, which was very loose on me. I am 5'7 with a 28/29 waist, and go between a small and medium for most Athleta bottoms. I will keep them since I assume they will shrink a little in the wash, but if you're between sizes I would recommend to size down. The material is also not as soft as I had hoped, so I probably wouldn't purchase another color.
