I bought these last year in 2 colors (black and raphanus pink) in a size M. I've lost weight so bought new pairs this year. I ordered the black, undyed, pink sand and cerise all in Small Regular and Small Tall (I have long legs for my height). The Regular length was just barely long enough and si...nce I knew they might shrink some I kept the black, undyed and pink sand in the Small tall and washed and dried them. I didn't notice any real shrinkage in the waist, or the volume of the butt or the legs. But I did notice shrinkage in the length on all of them. The black barely shrunk and the undyed shrunk a lot. In fact the undyed shrunk enough that they were only ever so slightly longer than the unwashed/undried Small regulars. The pink sand shrunk somewhere between the black and the undyed. Otherwise I found these comparable to the 2 pairs I got last year. The pink sand worked best with nude undies. The undyed seemed a bit less see-through (my denim blue undies were only slightly noticeable) and the black were obviously fine. I'm not a fan of the split opening in the legs at the bottom. Last year I had my dry cleaner add some clear plastic snaps so that I could keep the split closed or opened depending upon what I wanted at the moment. I never kept the split open so this year I am having the dry cleaner just completely sew up the split. As many before me have noted, Athlete pants seem so run big. I'm 5'7" and 140 lbs. I was 165-170 lbs last year when I bought the mediums, which fit great at the time. But given the weight loss I knew I had to size down to a small this year.
I love these pants. They wash and wear well. They don't shrink with washing and don't stretch out during the day with wear but the inconsistency in sizing was mind boggling!!! I tried on a pair of XS in the stores and they fit great. Decided not to buy that day and bought them online at the next sal...e. The XS pants that were delivered to my house were not even close to the ones I tried on in store -huge, baggy, wayyyyy too long. I returned that pair in store and tried on a different pair of XS (in a different color than the first pair I tried on in store originally). They fit perfectly, exactly how I remembered the first pair fitting. They didn't have the color I wanted in stores that day, so placed an online order. Again the XS smalls delivered to my house were huge! Not at all like the pair I tried on in the stores (twice!). Long story short, it took trying seven pair of pants in the same size to find 2 pair in different colors that actually fit. In the end, I love the pants.

Reviewed at
athleta.gapcanada.caI loved the fit, but the fabric is thin and developed holes quickly. It also seems that the fabric is lower quality than it used to be. My first pair lasted a couple years. But the ones I bought for this summer already have holes and are unwearable. I asked for a return because it was defective and was originally approved for one, but when I sent them in they denied the return with no proper explanation or follow up.

Love the fabric and the cut, but even the petite were too long for me. I have a LOT of Athleta pants, and they usually are perfect in length. Drat.

I have loved Athleta until this point. My linen pants wore a hole in on the pant leg after two months of use. I was told these are past the 30 day return policy and are considered "wear & tear". I have bought countless pairs of linen pants from other companies and have NEVER had this issue even after years and of wear. If Athleta is not going to produce quality products and not work with customers, then I will not spend my money here anymore. It is very unfortunate because their clothes fit me really well and it is hard to find good fitting bottoms for my body type.

The fabric was very nice, the waist fit well, but the legs are hilariously gigantic. That is the reason for the low rating. I ordered the xxs petite, which is what I normally wear, or xs petite, and I was shocked how enormous the legs are. They looked comical. When I returned them, I was told most people order one or two sizes down in these. Where does that leave us petite women? Please check sizing. We petite women need clothing that is proportioned appropriately all around, not just the length. Thank you.

I am on my 5th pair. I have white, black, beige, green and pink. The striped ones are now calling my name. The regular length is perfect on my 5ft 8" frame. None of the pants are see-through. If you wear underwear that match your skin tone there is no issue at all. I think that is just common sense with linen pants. The slits at the bottom, zippered pockets, drawstring waist are all flattering. I recommend them with zero hesitation!

Athleta sizing is extremely inconsistent across styles and products. It either runs way too big ( for example a person normally being a size medium having to purchase extra small for the right fit) or too small and tight (that same medium sized person needing to purchase a large) This makes it extremely difficult to buy the clothes- you really don't know how they will work. Quality too has gone way down. This used to be my go-to brand for everyday athletic wear, not anymore. There are too many other less expensive, higher quality brands out there.

Looks great with matching top. I bought in black, size xs petite and they fit great. They are a tad long for me so I wear them with a shoe with an inch or so of a heel. (Originally bought small petite and they were way too big, in other stores I would wear 6-8P for reference) They washed well, didn't shrink and not real wrinkled when taken out of the dryer.

First of all, both my sister and my husband complimented me on these pants (unsolicited) which is a win in my book! I am 5'3" and curvy and typically wide leg pants look very un-flattering on me. I got two pairs in a medium petite, and they fit perfectly (typically I wear a size 10). The black pair is slightly softer than the flax color for some reason, but I like both. Also the inseam is slightly longer on the flax pair than the black (for some reason), but I love the style, the fit, the zipper pockets and the slit in the bottom, very stylish and perfect for summer.

I washed these and now can barely wear them because they are so itchy! I guess I need fabric softener and hope I can wear them!
