I love this new and improved Balance Jogger--I have the old style in blue, and these have a better draw string and improved pockets. The fit has always been flattering and very comfortable. However, the fabric seems thinner and seems to be pilling on the inside more than the old kind. I'm worried th...at they're not going to stand up to my WFH sweatpants-wearing demands. It would be fabulous if they made the same jogger but with a more fleece-lined weight for colder months!
Received the Balance joggers on Nov 14. At first, I was smitten. They are so soft and fit well. Not one month later, having put them through the wash maybe twice, the pants pilled so badly on the inside fabric, that from the surface, you could see bumps all over my legs and bum. The fabric became so... thin that you can clearly now see through. Even if I wanted to wear these pants that much, in one month, this shouldn't have happened. I called Athleta right before the holidays to share my concern. The customer service person I spoke to told me that, due to the poor quality, I had the option of returning them. I told her I'd decide over the holidays. In the meantime, she refunded a portion of the price I paid. She indicated if I returned them, then the refund would be less that discount. Obviously, I was fine with that. After the holidays, I decided to follow through on the return for the principle of the matter, given how poor quality and little wear I was going to get out of the pants. Another customer service person confirmed I could go ahead with the return and set it up for me. After making the return, it took at least two weeks for me to hear back, and it came in the way of the pants being sent back to me with a note saying that due to the article being worn/washed, it was no longer returnable. What gives, Athleta? It's not like the clothes are inexpensive. I usually only buy Athleta on sale because, for the price, the quality is not up to par, but this one is a complete deal breaker. The quality is completely unacceptable. Athleta wasted not just my money, but my time, and made me feel like I was trying to take advantage of something. I'm afraid Athleta will be a no-go for me because of this experience. When calling to tell them this, they offered me a 15% discount...on a future purchase!

I own two pairs of these pants, both in black. I received the first pair as a Christmas gift, loved the fit and softness, so immediately ordered a second pair. After three months of light wear, say once or twice per week, both pairs look 10 years old. They are pilling terrible. The fabric is just in terrible shape. I'm embarrassed to wear them out of the house- after owning them for only three months! I'll note they were black, washed in cold water using dark Woolite, and line dried. Don't waste your money with these.

I have never written a bad review on anything from Athleta. These pants pill horribly after one wash. You have to line dry them. Again, you have to LINE DRY SWEATS. I saved them for an upcoming trip and gave them a wash, and now they are unwearable. Athleta essentially made me by a lint shaver, but it snagged the very thin material and now there are tiny holes. I get that holes are not their fault, but the extremely POOR QUALITY of this garment is. It's not worth even a dirt cheap sale price. Pass on this one, you've been warned.

I really want to love these and like most of the Athleta previously purchased. But, these pants faded after the second wash. They also continue to shed even after many washes, leaving black fuzz everywhere. They are very comfortable and fit well, but not worth it based on those two issues.
