On the Fence

The skirt has a versatile shape. It looks good with sandals, ballerinas, and sneakers. As other reviewers noted, it's a bit roomy through the hips. I'm on the fence because I fear the nylon fabric will be hot and clingy in the summer. And I'm not sure if I can get past the swishing noise.

I loved how this skirt looked on the model but once it arrived I almost laughed it was so awful. I ordered the guava—the color was pretty but it had a weird shine and plastic y feel to the fabric —like wearing a tarp or a tent. I sent it back. Was hoping for something gauzier and softer for summer—this would be great if you wanted something to toss on when you're at the beach or around water—but that was not my goal so it went back.

I ordered two of these in different colours and sizes because I was so in love with the look. It runs really large - I am "pear shaped" and offen wear large in pants and skirts and I ended up going with the small. I like the design with the back being longer than the front but it almost skims the ground if you're on the short side (I'm 5"2). The white IS see-through, but it's not extreme if you wear some sort of undershorts. I prefer to tuck shirts in so a bit annoying the way the lines of those show through the sheer material on the white one. But despite the extra length, misleading sizing, and see-through material, this is still a 5-star skirt! The drawstring on the bottom is fun, the shape and swishy material are so cool, it billows in the wind like a parachute! and it has POCKETS! I have gotten so many compliments from strangers when I wear this (who says Torontonians aren't friendly?) and it is nice and wind-breaking for this unseasonably cold spring we're having in southern Ontario. Fave skirt ever! Size down and you will not be disappointed! 🪂
