I wish I had kept count of how many tees I've purchased from Athleta. I could be a record breaker. This however is one of my favorite. The fabric is exceptionally soft and substantial enough not to be see through. I love the seam detailing down the middle of the back that gives a little interest a...nd improves fit. The length is long enough not to be cropped but short enough to be "in-style". Time will tell how it washes and wears. I've been disappointed in the pilling on some of the tees I've purchased at Athleta in the last few years. I don't think that should happen to tees that are never dried or at least not for a long time. I don't expect to have that problem with this one due to the fabric.
I was looking forward to replacing the basic tees in my wardrobe with this Essential V-Neck, but I was sorely disappointed by how short it was. I am large-chested (G/H cup) so yes, my chest takes up a lot of real estate when it comes to t-shirt material, but the bottom of the shirt barely covered my... belly button. The material felt high quality and felt like it would hold up to solid wear and washing. Just super-disappointed that I had to return all 3 that I ordered since I'm not cut out to wear crop tops. I have run into this with other shirts from Athleta (and other brands) - similar to their shorts, I just wish they came about 1" longer! I am only 5'3" so having things be too short should not be a problem for me. I am going to have to order again in "Tall" to see if those are better!

It's pure white, perfect basic v neck tee that goes with everything. It's shorter than many shirts but that works for me with jeans and jean skirt . Is very flattering in size XL when I'm used to wearing a 1x so that is wonderful.

This is the 4th tee shirt of this style that I have bought. Obviously it is because it looks great with jeans, skirts, shorts and looks new after lots of washing and wear. What could be better than that for Arizona heat? Bought one size larger for that looser look as the tee shirt is short and find that more flattering for me.

The shirt is soft and has the right amount of thickness to hold its shape and be opaque in white. The length is great since I don't like long shirts and it's long enough to not show my belly when I lift my arms. I just wish it came in more colors so I could buy more.
