My daughter is usually an 8-10 and these were massive - I'd said they fit more like a 12-14 in both waist and length. She won't be able to wear these for a couple years.

Ordered a 8/10 for a slim 12 year old, and the hips and thighs were still too wide. Length was good, bit these pants are not for slim fits. Sizing not consistent with other athelta lines. Unfortunately its a final sale, so i can't return.

So as far as the size chart goes it was completely accurate. The pants hug curves and look good on *women. I can see why these would look too big on actual kids. The material is also not durable. Very soft, and I fear that any abraision would cause some pilling so I will note be going to the gym in these. These are good for lounging or quick errands.

Purchased the All Day Flare pants, expecting them to be made from the same heavy cotton fabric as my daughter's All Day Straight pants (73% cotton) with a soft, fleecy interior to keep her warm. Unfortunately, I made the mistake of assuming the fabrics would be similar, and I quite disappointed to find that the All Day Flare pants are made from a flimsy 78% tencel material. If not for the final sale policy, I would have returned them. For reference, the XXL/16 fits me comfortably (I'm 5'5" and 130lbs)

These are huge! My daughter is pretty slim, but usually a small/7 in Athleta and she was swimming in these!
