Why are the lengths so WEIRD!?!?!?!?!

The waist and legs fit normal, but I am so confused about the length sizing for all the flare pants I have bought from Athleta. I am 5'8, which is not all that tall, but apparently too tall for 'regular' flare pants. 'Regular' length pants are far too short - my mom would say I look like I'm waiting...

The Best Yoga Pants I've Ever Owned! These Salutation Stash High Rise Flare Pants from Athleta are hands down the best yoga pants I've ever had — so much so that I now own two pairs in black and one in blue! They're the perfect high-rise fit, hitting exactly at the waist for a flattering and supportive feel.
