Best. shorts I bought in 20 years. I hate my thighs. I can't stand high rise shorts. I avoid side pockets because they add visual heft. I don't buy shorts because they always leave me feeling self conscious and uncomfortable. But these shorts are perfect everywhere, top to bottom. Incredible fit, fe...el, style. Flattering and great for errands, hiking, lunch, day or night with heels or flats or flip flops or sneakers. Spectacular all around, just wish they had some more color options in warm taupe, linen, chocolate, raisin or dark blue or teal. I sized up and it covers well and is both modest and flattering. Buy them all.
Ok, so everything I buy at Athleta is a size 12. Everything always fits to a tee. Imagine my horror when I pulled these out of their package, and COULD NOT EVEN GET THEM ZIPPED UP. I was horrified. Double checked the size to make sure they were a size 12. They were. Got so freaked out that I pulled ...out last year's Brooklyn shorts to make sure I didn't unknowingly gain 10 lbs. They still fit perfectly. So thank God for that. But here's the thing…Athleta, why would you even make a pair of shorts so "off" in the sizing when you really seemed to have the whole thing down to a science? Trying to keep us on our toes? No thanks. These were promptly returned. Interesting factoid, the woman who did my return in store totally validated my experience. She had to go up 2 sizes to get a proper fit. I know people say that the size doesn't matter, it's all about the fit … but show me a woman who is willing to size up that much. The mental head game just isn't worth it.

I love the style and cut of these shorts. They fabric is airy and breathable, but you can dress it up or down. I usually wear a 4 and even the 6 didn't fit me. I had to go up to an 8.

The yellow is beautiful and the white works with everything. They run SMALL!! I wear a medium in Athleta pants and 8 in most pants. I had to get a 12 in these. But I love the way they fit and they look polished.

Loved the material of these and length. I did feel the white was see through but it was still wearable. However these run really small, I usually wear a 6 and even the 8 was too tight, needed a 10 to be comfortable.

This short didn't work for me. The material is nice but there wasn't much give in the high waist. Unfortunately I could tell it was going to hurt my back like other high waisted shorts I have that don't stretch much. It causes a kink in my lower-mid back. The leg openings were also a little wide for me. Bummer because they have a lot of nice colors.
