After reading these reviews, I was able to narrow my size options down to Tall XS or Tall S (I'm 140lbs, 5'10" with an average size rear, and am typically a M in leggings or 6 in pants). I ordered both sizes and honestly spent too long in front of the mirror trying to figure out which worked better..., b/c THEY BOTH FIT, lol. In spite of the style being considered a bit oversized, neither option I tried was loose around the rear. In fact, both fit my rear the same (not snug, but certainly not baggy), and the only detectible difference I could see was that the legs and waistband were a touch looser in the S vs the XS -- though the silhouette was similar for both. I thought about keeping the XS and returning the S in case the material relaxed while wearing as some joggers can do, but opted to risk sticking with the S in case they shrink a bit after washing. But in reality, these are basic sweatpants, even if they are Athleta (and believe me, I am brand loyal to Athleta!). I'm all for paying extra for sweatpants that are cozier, fit better and have the extra details to make them look nicer, but these are *very* similar in look/feel to another brand I have from a certain big box retailer at a fraction of the price. In the end, I'm keeping these b/c I LOVE the red color, but at this price point, the value is hard to defend given how fiddly the sizing is and the uncertainty of how they'll wear over time. If you're dying to try these then by all means, go for it! But if you're on the fence, maybe hang on and wait for a sale. Inflation has been real, y'all. :)
TL;DR Pros: soft, comfortable, loose around legs, comfortable waistband, unique color Cons: quality does not match price point I am about 5'3" and weigh about 120 pounds. I ordered a Small Petite. I was delighted to see that Athleta offers petite sizing for their joggers and loved the Spiced Cabern...et color. When I first put this jogger on, I was amazed by how soft and comfortable the material was. The fit is loose so my legs don't feel like they are suffocating in these pants. The waistband is really flexible and doesn't randomly dig in or fold in weird ways (makes accommodating for food babies a little easier :P). The pockets are a good size and they don't awkwardly fold upwards if you don't have anything in them. With that being said, I personally wouldn't pay full price for this item. It has started to pill in various places after only three days of wearing them. I mainly wore these joggers for sleeping and for lounging around the house. I haven't even washed them or worn them outside for errands. That was a little disappointing since this was my first pair of petite joggers from Athleta and I was expecting a little bit more in terms of quality due to the price. All in all, they are a good pair of pants due to their soft material, flexible waistband, and comfortable fit. I also think that the color is so unique and it is very comfortable to sleep in. I just don't think that the quality is worth paying full price for.

Jogger is soft and flattering to wear. Feels like a soft light flannel you could sleep in these.

I was given the coastal luxe sweatshirt and joggers for Xmas and I'm back to buy another set for myself. I'm 5'2" and 160lbs and the medium petite fits great. It's a relaxed fit but not at all oversized or sloppy.

I ordered a size down from the measurements to make sure that these jogger weren't too baggy, but even at that, and after pulling the pants up to my bra, the crotch still hung unreasonably low. I am 5'6", so it isn't a height issue. I could have worn them if they would stay up, but the stretch/elastic at the top wouldn't hold, so they would slide down to my waist, which meant that the crotch was headed to my knees. In addition to that, the top and bottom must've been different dye lots, because they are not the same and don't match. I didn't see that until after I washed them (per instructions, to see if they might shrink a little. They didn't.) The two pieces are worthless as a set, and this jogger looks bad enough that I probably will have to donate them, since I don't think I will even wear them at home. It is a shame, because the fabric is soft and has a nice finish. If I hadn't washed them in an attempt to make them wearable, I would send them back. I wish Athleta had some uniformity of size. It is always a roll of the dice if anything fits

These are super comfy. But not up to par with Athleta's typically quality standards. After 1 wash they started pilling. They have balls of fabric stuck all over them. They look 10 years old even though they are brand new. Would not recommend.

Pilling began almost immediately upon the first wearing and became progressively worse. Washing according to directions did not help. I'm so glad I bought them on sale and didn't invest the full price.
