as others have already said, it's warm without being weighty and bulky, and it does run large. i almost always wear a size medium, but the small is a much better fit. it isn't intended to hug the body closely like typical puffers (it's a relaxed fit), which may be why some people are sizing down 2 ...whole sizes. for me, 1 down was sufficient. and whether i wear a t-shirt underneath or sweatera , it doesn't look especially oversized. ...i like the length, and the details are just... clean, down to the snaps. i bought this to replace my S13 harper, which must be made for anarctica! manuevering in it was a whole project! LOL the stratus is perfect!
I bought this because I was very happy with the Athleta puffer parka I purchased last year. However, this one feels a bit too shapeless, which may not be as flattering for women. The sleeves are also quite long, and the logo placement on the pockets and sleeves sits too low. While oversized styles c...an look great, I think this design would benefit from more tailoring or a more flattering silhouette. Another option could be offering a petite version or removing/repositioning the logo. That said, the jacket is lightweight and feels very soft when worn. I would also love to see more color options, such as taupe or beige—black and navy are great. Overall, I hope Athleta continues to expand petite sizing (for pants as well), or offers hemming services, to better support shorter customers.

I really like this coat. Bought it on clearance / final sale in hopes of finding a warm, long coat. Sizing — I'm 5'6, 136 lbs and usually wear a small or XS in clothes. I bought the XXS. The body portion fits great — still has enough room. Arms are a smidge snug and it's a smidge short when i use the finger holes. But not a deal breaker. I probably should have gotten the XS but it was final sale. Also like that you can unzip it from the bottom when needed for movement.

I ordered the coat for my mother in law since she needed a petite warm coat. As most suggested to size down I'm glad I did. Normally a size medium the small was perfect.

This jacket is my favorite. It is SO warm and keeps out the freezing cold air and wind. It's perfect for Football games, outdoor sports and outdoor activities in winter. I love the brown - it's a nice warm chocolate brown, better than the boring black! It's long enough to keep you warm to your knees. It was recommended to downsize which I did as it runs large. Glad I did as I normally buy an XL and chose a size L.

Absolutely love this parka. I've been looking at it for sometime so treated myself after Christmas. Based on others feedback, I ordered one size smaller, but probably could have ordered down again. Its long, which is nice on the cold mornings when I'm out for a walk. Love the shade of brown, goes well with my pink scarf. If Athleta were to edesign this parka, my recommendation would be to include a cinch cord on the inside.

I love my new jacket! It is warm and comfortable. Definitely size down. I usually wear M/L and bought a M. There is plenty of room. Would highly recommend!

Bought bc it's been a much colder snowier winter than usual and I needed to upgrade my puffer to walk my dog and have for super cold days. I wasn't planning to buy a long one like this, I'm 5'4" and it hits mid calf so it's longer. But I tried on in store and was very impressed by how light and fluffy and cozy and just totally comfortable it is! I am usually a L but got a M bc it did run roomy and I still have room to wear a thick sweater in the M. It will be very warm but not stiff or heavy which is key for me.
