I initially ordered a large because all my Athleta tops are that size (5'10" 185lbs for reference.) I may have already submitted a review but… I looked like how a kid would draw a shirt on stick people. I returned for a medium, and when that came today, I noticed right away the crew neck was cut and.../or hemmed improperly so it sits crooked on my shoulders. I shouldn't have to go through almost a month of returns for a simple crew neck tee. This entire "Essential" collection is a bit odd. Most of my tops are the "With Ease" cinch and twist tops and those feel like a true large. I would even re-re-order a small but I was worried the arm holes would feel too tight. The cut on the shoulder and torso is awkwardly broad… almost as if a man designed this for himself and just made the arm holes skinnier for a woman. I love supima cotton as it is more durable and less see-through than regular or even pima cotton. I wanted an alternative to all the poly blend workout clothes in my wardrobe. It's a great fabric but I think this whole line needs a little tweak on sizing and overall shape of the garments.
I'm a large in everything with Athleta... is what I thought (5'10" and 185 lbs, 42" bust.) I know these are more of a relaxed fit, but sizing down would have been the move. Love the high quality fabric and color, but I'm not as impressed with how unpredictable the sizing can be between medium and la...rge. This goes for tops and bottoms. I've had medium fit perfectly in-store, then online orders leaving me looking like the Michelin man. This was the opposite. All my clothes (that have actually fit) from Athleta are a large. I went straight-ticket large on this $200+ order and thought I was safe, but this supima "Essential" collection is shaping out to be frumpy and unflattering so far. Plenty of websites I've ordered sale items from allows returns for an in-store credit at least. Athleta not so much. Boo!! I like sale items so I know what I like before dropping $$$. Now I'm just bummed!

Athleta's long sleeved cropped top has always been a go-to for me. Now that they have come out with a new version, the Essential Tee, I am stocking-up. They sit at the hip, no more long Tees bunching up under your jeans and they are just wide enough to let in those cool summer breezes on a hot summer's day. They are my idea of perfection.

I ordered this item and found the sizing to be quite inconsistent. I initially ordered a size XS petite, but it was much too large. I then tried a XXS regular, which fit better in the body, but the sleeves were long. While the style of the clothing is nice, the sizing is confusing and not true to standard petite/regular sizing. Potential buyers should be aware that they may need to try multiple sizes to find the right fit.

The fabric on this shirt is really soft and not thin. The threading is great too. Other shirts form diff brands will have its thread start to fall. This shirt is modest and not too tight.

Great fabric, not to thick, not to thin. Washes well and dries well, though I dry it half way in the dryer and then hang dry. Fabric is breathable, doesn't cling. This is a staple item for me that I love wearing with the Venice jogger and other athletic bottoms. I have about half a dozen of these essential tees.

Initially bought this style several seasons ago and continue to replace the white one since I wear it often. I own the top in black, navy, and navy stripe ( my favorite one). I would buy another stripe one if you had another color. It fits well! This style is great for wearing under a jacket, sweater, or alone. Love the fabric, and it washes well. You can beat it at the price either!

#sweepstakes First time purchase of long sleeve essential tee. I love the shorter length as I am not a fan of long tops. I plan to use this for casual wear as it seems heavy for gym use. I wish the neckline was just a bit more relaxed as it feels a bit high.
