Love the fit and quality of the shorts, does run a touch big, but I don't like tight shorts so not a problem for me. I ordered my normal size small. My issue with them (removing one star) is the color. I purchased several sky colored tops to try and create a monochrome set. The color shown in the pi...ctures appears to match exactly. What I received was much darker and not at all a match to the tops purchased for this reason. I would describe the color in person as "chambray". They are still a versatile color that will go with a lot of my wardrobe, and I will keep them for this reason. But it is frustrating when the item received does not match the online images - so buyers of the "sky" color beware! Again, fit and quality is great as always with this brand. Highly recommend re-shooting the images of this color and/or renaming it altogether as to alleviate future frustration. Wish I had seen the other review stating this prior to my purchase!

I loved the Retreat Linen Collection when I saw it. And I love the idea of an ensemble with a top, shorts, and pants! When I saw it in the store, the collection was made of a very nice fabric but no petite sizes were available. However, the short and pants were both back ordered beyond the 30-day re...turn window for the delivered shirt. When I requested an extension to return the shirt until I had received the companion pieces, I was flatly denied. I wound up returning the shirt. I will probably return the shorts and pants too, rather than repurchasing the shirt. I hope Athleta Customer Service will reconsider its strict policies when its own supply issues created the difficulties for its loyal customers.

I don't mind the winkles the more you wash and wear them the better. I hang to dry and sometimes will fluff in the dryer. I have them in 3 colors. I bought the large even though they are a little big I just tie them tighter. It's hot in Arizona and these are perfect. I'm an active 69 year old and I feel good in these longer shorts

The lighter colors are see through. It makes these super cute, well fitting shorts almost unwearable in public. As I bought them on line and on sale I can't return or exchange, so I feel like my money's gone in the trash. I buy on line from Athleta because I have previously trusted the quality and fit. Alas.

Loved the fit, loved the feel, and loved loved loved the zippered pockets. They are crazy see through though and are a difficult wear in the lighter colors. A lining or double fabric layer would make them an easy grab from the closet

These are definitely high rise, not mid rise, which is an immediate "return" for me. But in addition, these got wrinkled front and back just trying them on. The white is see-through. The black and tan colors are not see-through. In addition, for fit - I prefer a pair of shorts that doesn't make me look like a zoo keeper. There's just something about the wider leg and the way the pockets are placed that put these in the same category as "mom jeans" and less like "carefree summer." Also, I know it's linen, but if I wore these all day like I intended, I'd hate all the wrinkles. I returned all the colors.
