Answer: when you're 5'11 and the 'tall' is still dragging on the floor when I'm in 3in heels, LOL! 5 stars for overall design Docking a star for execution. Maybe 2. I've worn Venice Joggers for the last year and LOVED them, especially in cooler weather and on planes b/c the fabric is the perfect ...weight, a classic style, and they're super comfy. I wear a Small/Tall in the jogger (5'11, 140lb), so when the wide-leg version came out, I had a look at the inseam measurement on the website...for Tall styles, the wide-leg is 1in longer than the jogger, which I thought was fine, so I ordered the same size for the wide-leg pant. Even given the lower crotch drop relative to the joggers, they were *laughably* long. Just for grins, I put on the heels that I would *never* wear with these, and the pant legs were still dragging on the floor -- I'd have to be over 6'3 for the Tall to look anything like they do on the models. I'd have exchanged them, but I bought them in the solid Abalone color the week before Labor Day, and by LD weekend, they were then on backorder with the black color for until November (I just saw "backorder" changed to "preorder" on the site, so I'm wondering if the initial release of the solid colors was problematic -- sizing maybe? -- and set Athleta back on their inventory until the problem could be fixed?). Anyway, I otherwise loved that the fabric was heavy enough that you wouldn't see through the lighter Abalone color, and they fit my waist just like the joggers did. Really loved the style. So rather than wait 2 months waiting for a new pair, I took them to the tailor to be hemmed for $20. I'm annoyed that I needed to do that though, so I probably will contact customer service to let them know and see if anything can be done. :)
I own the Venice track stripe pants in two colors and absolutely adore them. So when I saw that Athleta released them in red, I purchased them immediately. Much to my dismay, the red ones were much shorter than the other pairs that I own, like by nearly 2 inches (see photos). The other colors I have... are M Tall, and that's what I ordered for the red ones, so I thought maybe it was a fluke, like perhaps a pair of regular length pants got mislabeled as Tall. So I returned them and reordered them in the same size. But once again, they arrived and sadly were much shorter than the other colors I own. The inseam is like 30-1/2" which is not at all what I would consider a tall length. Furthermore, the red ones fit tighter in the waistband than the other colors i have (black and navy). I'm really bummed because the color is amazing, but with them being so short they just look like clown pants on my 5'9" frame. LOL So buyer beware...the red ones are not like the other colors.

I loved these pants. I'm 120 lbs, 5 foot 1 and the xs petite fit perfect. I wore them two times and in the second wash the seam in the front of the pant completely unraveled. I removed my load of laundry from the washer and the thread from the front hem was tangled around my salutation stash pants. I'm so sad! My first bad experience with Athleta.

I took three pairs of these with me to London in late November. This is the perfect travel pant for cooler temperatures. It drapes well and is very comfortable. I am 5'6", 118 pounds with a longer torso than legs so the petite length works best for me. Since they do run bigger, I ordered the XS versus my usual small. The only inconsistency I noticed is the pair I have in the pine color are slightly snugger in the waist than the pairs I have in black and black with the white stripes.

I love these pants even though I struggle with the length. The Tall was way too long and the Regular feels an inch too short (I originally purchased the Tall then exchanged for Regular). For reference I am 5'8". I wear these to work and I've gotten many compliments!

I'm so glad that Athleta is offering tall pants that are longer than 34 inches again (these are 34-1/2). I loved your 36-inseam tall pants, but you haven't offered that length in a few years. The 33-inseam just doesn't cut it when you have long legs. These pants are comfortable and the material is high quality. I used to wear an XL in Athleta, but that size was too big for me in these pants, so I exchanged them for a L. I highly recommend and have purchased 5 pairs. Please keep making these 34-1/2 length!

I love these pants! Trouser fit, look neat and never wrinkle. I paired them with the Navy Forever Fleece Crew Neck. Very comfortable monochromatic look. #sweepstakes

The length and size are perfect. Love the material and that I can dress these up for work or down for an elevated casual look. I'm 5'2", ordered an extra small petite and the length is perfect.

Comments about Venice High Rise Wide Leg Pant
The Venice wide leg and the Endless high rise flare are my 2 favorite work/ pants from Athleta. They are comfortable and flattering and can be dressed up or down. I wash my Athleta pants in cold water and hang to dry and they last for years. They are worth the investment. For reference I am 5'5 and weigh 148 and in these pants I wear a small.
