I am 5'2" about 135 lbs. usually a size small in tops, and small petite in pants at Athleta, and medium in bathing suits….i followed review suggestions and sized up, ordered a large petite, fits nicely , i probably could have worn a medium petite too…anyway, it is flattering and comfortable.
Versus
I'm 5'11", ordered the medium tall. There is no way I could get the top half to stretch enough to put this on, and I don't even have a long torso for a tall lady! If you're average height you might consider ordering the tall but I wouldn't say this is tall friendly.

Super cute swimsuit. I had high hopes but was disappointed in the fit. The short side of the swimsuit top was barely wide enough to cover the bust and I am not large chested (38B). The cutout also showed some back fat but that's not the swimsuit's fault. It's a high quality swimsuit and just long enough for my long torso. I am 5'11 and 165 lbs and ordered a Large Tall. I bought on final sale so will have to gift or donate it.

I am 5'8", 190, athletic build with a little bit of a belly. I got the XL and it is a perfect fit. It hides the belly and the suit is very flattering on. I haven't worn it at the pool yet but it's a great suit.

Cute suit. Unfortunately too small had to return.
If you really need a long torso suit, this is not it. The full suit side is not what I would consider "tall" from Athleta, which is usually a reliable place for tall suits. Too much tugging needed. I am so sad to return it only based on the length.
