Love these shorts for a casual but polished look! Like others have mentioned, they do run small. I am a pretty solid 12 or Large, sometimes even Medium, in Athleta bottoms, and a 14 fit perfectly in these. I have fairly muscular thighs that make a lot of shorts that fit me in the waist fit too ti...ght through the thigh, but with a wider leg opening these are just right.
Ok, so everything I buy at Athleta is a size 12. Everything always fits to a tee. Imagine my horror when I pulled these out of their package, and COULD NOT EVEN GET THEM ZIPPED UP. I was horrified. Double checked the size to make sure they were a size 12. They were. Got so freaked out that I pulled ...out last year's Brooklyn shorts to make sure I didn't unknowingly gain 10 lbs. They still fit perfectly. So thank God for that. But here's the thing…Athleta, why would you even make a pair of shorts so "off" in the sizing when you really seemed to have the whole thing down to a science? Trying to keep us on our toes? No thanks. These were promptly returned. Interesting factoid, the woman who did my return in store totally validated my experience. She had to go up 2 sizes to get a proper fit. I know people say that the size doesn't matter, it's all about the fit … but show me a woman who is willing to size up that much. The mental head game just isn't worth it.

Great fit throughout the waist and hips. Material is soft and moves nicely with you while retaining its shape. Wish the shorts were just a bit longer.

Love these! I find shorts hard to fit, love the fit of these, they don't bulge at the top, can be dressed up or down. Great quality. I did find I had to size up. I am usually a 14 and the 16 was more comfortable.

This is my second pair of skyline shorts. I love how they fit and the fact that they don't have an elastic waistband. Most shorts this season are pull on shorts. The fit is perfect for an athletic body and fit true to size. For reference, I am 5'3" and weigh 123 lbs. I bought a size 4 which is typically what I wear.

Athleta lied and failed on these. Great quality but the last time I wore a 2" inseam was in 2000. Can't return bc I used points. That also run small for Athleta.

Quality is great, but these fit very small for Athleta, which generally runs one size big for me. They also claim a 4" inseam, but are much shorter, about 3".

Finally a pair of shorts that aren't elastic waist band. I was looking for a short that could be dressed up or down. The Skyline short has become my favorite short in my wardrobe. The eden color is such a pretty color, and the style fits my athletic body perfectly. Our store didn't have my size, and I wasn't sure they would fit based on the reviews. However, my usual size fit perfectly. They don't feel like 4 inch shorts because of the wider opening at the leg and are very flattering. For reference, I am 5'3" and weigh 123 lbs. I bought a size 4.

These are very cute and comfy, and I feel they run true to size. Was hoping all the reviews saying they ran small were correct because I typically wear a 00, but unfortunately these were still too big for me in 0. Athleta, PLEASE make your "dressier" items in smaller sizes! All of the athletic shorts come in an XXS, but the nicer things only go down to size 0. Why??
