Love the color and style of this swim bottom. I have been working at toning & knew I needed a smaller size than I have been wearing, but this small was too big. Disappointed because I can't return it (final sale). Someone will get a cute bottom for the remainder of the summer!

Not much of a fit difference between XS or XXS - this is an XXS and it fits like XS. I have been buying Athleta clothing for over 10 years. I have more Athleta items than any other athleisure clothing from similar high end brands and for over the years now, I have noticed that the size XXS and XXSP or XSP have noticeably felt, sized and feels larger now than ever on me. Which is precisely why I have bought more Lululemon items or have bought Athleta Girl items for better fit. I have been very fortunate to have had a consistent 24-25 waist and a 30-31 hip since I was in highschool and I am now in my mid-fifties with consistently, historically speaking, having had very minor fluctuations in my weight between 83-85 lbs for many years and for that I am grateful, however, Athleta sizing has had some noticeable changes in the sizes XXS, XXSP or XSP in the recent years.

Fit small. I have other size M bottoms form Athleta but these were much tighter. The elastic band others have mentioned creates unflattering bulges on the thighs and stomach.
