Initially I wasn't convinced I'd like these shorts. I usually wear a size XXS in all Athleta tights, but these felt pretty tight. However, while the XS felt more comfortable, there's no drawstring. I figured they might fall down a bit while running. So, I opted for the XXS, and honestly, they were p...erfect for running. The side pocket easily fit my iPhone, the other pocket my keys, and I went for a 7 mi run w/o these moving. The shorts have tiny plastic pieces that keep the shorts in place and waistband was snug but not uncomfortable. These performed beautifully.
Ordered these in green and when they arrived I thought they were adorable! Fun colors and Inloked the look of the waisteband. Unfortunately after trying them on, they just do not work. There is so much extra material over the spandex shorts. I don't think sizing down would help. I usually order medi...um shorts from athleta (small in tights, size 4-6 in pants) but these had SO much extra material and were just nit flattering at all. I was hoping to wear them as an alternative to a tennis skirt but they were returned.These are a great concept, but were executed poorly.

These are good - a decent price, fit well and don't ride up. Having a pocket in each leg is a bonus. I would recommend sizing up for these. I'm usually a medium at Athleta but needed a large for these shorts.

These shorts are comfy, breathable, and look very cute on. Shorts are light compression and did not ride up during workout. Bought a size L - True to size. Side pockets are a nice touch. Really like the lime green and pale green color combo. Wish these shorts came in other cute color combos.

The undershorts stay put! I am not a big fan of high rise waist lines, but it is hard to find anything that isn't these days. The front is a little poofy, but the feel is good.

I love the concept. I love the color (neon green). I don't even mind the bulk/fluff of the short like other reviewers. That's the style/look. Don't order them if that bugs you. What I don't like is that I don't know if I should keep the medium or the small. The mediums feel more comfortable and don't cut into my thigh like the small does, but it's looser around the waist and I don't know how that will work when I run and load my phone and nutrition in the pocket. The small fits best but cuts into my thigh and I am incredibly self conscious about that. Because I'll run distance in the shorts I will most likely keep the small. I ordered two colors (green and red) and the red is a tighter fit than the green. I will not keep the red ones. It is so frustrating when there are size inconsistencies between colors. Athleta, you have to do better. For more reference, I wear mediums in the biker shorts, smalls in leggings and running shorts.
