This is a lovely jacket. Nice Athleta branded zippers, easy to zip. Unfortunately I'm returning, because I either need more stretch or a size up that doesn't exist. If you are in the top end with a wide back, you may need to try it on or size up if you can. The written description and model pictur...es miss to describe that there is a 3rd zippered pocket in the back of the jacket. You can easily fit a pair of gloves in there. See images.
I love almost everything about this jacket - the style, fit, fabric, ventilation - but there's one thing I hate that's nearly a dealbreaker: the sharp edge of the interior zipper placket causes pilling on my clothes when I walk briskly. I've already ruined a couple of shirts. If Athleta has any id...eas for addressing this issue, I would love to hear them!

Okay, first, I ordered this knowing I was on the larger size of extra large; if it had been available in a 1X, that would have been my choice. It was exactly as advertised, but I returned it because it was just too snug as a raincoat. I could zip it up, but it would not have handled many layers.

I ordered this one to decide between two Athleta rain jackets. I am 5'3" and 115 lbs slightly curvy and I ordered both S and XS. The XS was too snug around my hips and not easy to layer with. So the S would be the best fit for me. The traverse jacket is lightweight, and easy to pack for the day or a trip, but has a slight/small noise like a rain jacket many times does and is not stiff at all but a soft material/plastic feel. Also, does not have two way zipper. If I was going to pack this a lot, this would be my pick! However, since I was deciding between the two, since I only need one rain jacket, the Rainout Ridge Long Trench in black XS petite did win for my needs. It is longer, warmer, softer, can layer, has two way zipper, and does not feel plasticy at all, and since it has a nice lining it has a quality feel to it. I can still pack this one, but it will just take up more room than the traverse jacket would.
